13 Dec Tourism Roundtable draws large crowd
December 13, 2017
A large crowd gathered last week at a tourism roundtable led by Basil Seggos, commissioner of the New York Department of Environmental Conservations and Ross D. Levi, executive director of tourism at Empire State Development.
The two-hour event drew about 80+ people to the Conference Center at Lake Placid on Dec. 5.
It was an opportunity to discuss the future of tourism and its impact on the North Country economy.
Audience members and panelists shared their thoughts on the transportation limitations in the region, and the need for more facilities and lodging in certain areas of the Adirondacks. Mr. Levi led a discussion on the key barriers to building more lodging in the Adirondacks and possible ways the state could help with that effort.
