20 May ROOST presents results of 2014 Lake Placid Retail Surveys
Lake Placid, adirondacks, usa — Retail businesses in Lake Placid should take advantage of both regional and online markets, according to the results of a survey conducted in 2014.
The surveys were conducted during the period June through October 2014, in two formats. A regional resident survey was distributed via USPS to over 13,000 mailboxes in Lake Placid and surrounding Adirondacks communities of Keene, Wilmington, Tupper Lake, Long Lake, Piercefield, Ray Brook Saranac Lake and Bloomingdale.
Retail surveys were also distributed on-site at Lake Placid lodging and retail properties.
Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) president James McKenna presented the results to area businesses and interested individuals on May 7.
“These results mirror other visitor data we’ve collected,” said McKenna. “This shows that the pedestrian-friendly business district and the lodging component represent the critical mass that make this destination successful.”
